Developer Update: A New Direction for ChatChap

After careful consideration, I’ve decided to take a new direction with ChatChap. Instead of releasing the app on the Google Play Store, ChatChap will now be available for direct download exclusively from this website.

Going solo without Google gives me the freedom to design and implement the app exactly as I envision it, providing a better experience for end users. This approach aligns with ChatChap’s core philosophy of privacy and anonymity, unencumbered by external restrictions.

What’s Next for ChatChap?

I’m planning to introduce exciting new features, including:

• Cryptocurrency Payments: Support for Monero (XMR) transactions to enable private and secure payments directly within the app.
• Fingerprint Authentication: Adding an extra layer of security for true privacy and anonymity.

Unfortunately, Google’s requirements for cryptocurrency payments would have forced me to implement strict reporting of users and comply with AML (Anti-Money Laundering) and KYC (Know Your Customer) regulations for each country. These requirements conflict with ChatChap’s mission of complete anonymity, so I chose to break free from these constraints.

The Cost of Independence

I understand that not releasing ChatChap on the Google Play Store means it may not reach as many users. However, since the app collects no data and there’s no intention to monetize it traditionally, this trade-off is one I’m willing to accept.

That said, I may explore publishing ChatChap on alternative app stores in the future. Additionally, I’m considering introducing a small transfer fee for Monero transactions to cover server costs, ensuring the app remains sustainable.

Timeline for Release

I’m working hard to finalize the first version of ChatChap and aim to have it available for download directly on this website within the next couple of months. Your continued support and patience mean the world to me as I take this journey towards a truly private messaging platform.
